STAR WARS Zero Company Weapons

Weapon choice is tied to Action Point economy and Specialization synergy, so there is no single best weapon family for every Operator or squad.

Weapons are part of the action economy

Each Operator normally has three Action Points, so a weapon's practical value depends on how much of that turn it consumes and what the character needs to do afterward. The verified material repeatedly contrasts fast, low-AP pistol shots with heavier weapon actions that commit more of the turn to a single attack.

Match the weapon to the role

Pistols can fit Operators that want spare AP for support actions or repeated low-cost attacks. Heavier ranged weapons make more sense when the character is built to spend more of the turn on damage. The right answer changes with Specialization, talents, utilities, and the rest of the squad.

Weapon-family upgrades matter

The Den includes weapon-family upgrades that improve groups of weapons rather than one individual gun. That means investing in a family has more value when several frequently used Operators rely on it.

Do not judge a weapon in isolation

Community discussion in the verified material shows why simple damage comparisons can be misleading: a lower-damage weapon can still be useful if it creates more actions, finishes weakened targets, or fits a Gunslinger or support setup. Build decisions should consider AP cost, range, role, and squad synergy together.
